These race horses & jockeys were designed & plasma cut by JDR Metal Art to the client’s desired size, then mounted to the front of each gate panel. They are cut from a heavy duty 3/16″ thick steel sheet.
Putting The Gates Together:
Building high quality steel driveway gates requires precision layout to look aesthetically pleasing. A large welding table makes the perfect surface for ensuring the gate comes out flat and not bowed or warped after the welding process is complete.

Here is the left gate panel after welding has been finished. Each one took several hours of welding time. The pickets are cut from 3/4″ square tubing and welded solid to the 2×2″ square tubing frame. Each gate has a total of 17′ of weld, just on the pickets!
