High Quality 14 Foot Driveway Gate
Deer Themed Single Swing Steel with 6×6 Steel Posts
We built this single swing 14 foot steel gate and three posts for a customer in Illinois.
Standing over 6’3″ in the middle, this gate with deer design is very large and weighs nearly 400 lbs.
I added a third hinge socket to give the other two some strain relief…although they didn’t totally need it. All three custom made, high performance hinges utilize sealed roller bearings, bringing the rated capacity to nearly 5000 lbs of force.
The tubing frame is heavy duty 3/16″ walled 2×2 square tubing while the design is cut from 3/16″ steel sheet metal.
Need a driveway gate that would be perfect for also keeping small dogs in (and large ones out) ?
These driveway gates have 3/4″ square tubing pickets with a 4″ gap between pickets.
Along the bottom 9″ of the gate there are smaller 1/2″ square tubing pickets between every larger picket with a 1.75″ gap between large and small pickets.
Each gate panel is 4′ tall on the ends and 5′ in the center.
Punched steel channels add strength horizontally across the gate panels in two places; the bottom channel is fully flat and the top channel is both partially flat and partially arched.
The pickets are expertly welded for a watertight seal.
The gates are then sandblasted clean prior to powder coating for added adhesion and durability.
Our standard powder coat finish color is matte black although other colors can be arranged prior to ordering.
The bottom 9″ of the gate has a gap of 1.75″ between pickets.

Aluminum Driveway Gates
With Heavy Duty 2×4″ Rectangular Tube Frame
Customized for Tennessee Property by JDR Metal Art
Sometime people want an extra heavy duty rust free gate so here is one with a 2x4x1/4″ aluminum rectangular tube frame.
Although we used such a thick tube for the frame, the fact that it’s all constructed from aluminum means that the weight stays under 150 lbs. per leavy
The design incorporates a whitetail deer antler theme for our client who is located in Tennessee.
The antler silhouettes are plasma cut from 3/16″ thick aluminum sheets.
Each gate panel has mitered seams with beveled weld joints for extra strength.
The top of each gate panel has an S-curved arch
We powder coated everything in a fantastic looking flat black finish after sandblasting and pretreating all the aluminum to extend the life of the coating.
